The GriGri is Petzl's evolution of the classic and popular assisted braking device, the Grigri.

Optimized for 8.9 to 10.5mm ropes, Petzl quote it as being suitable for all single ropes. The Plus has an anti-panic function to prevent a climber being dropped whilst being lowered by the belayer pulling the handle back fully. There is also an additional mode to provide a more comfort belay to a top-roped climber.
